You're invited for an experience like none other. A Weekend in the "Lowcountry." is an opportunity to explore Georgia and South Carolina's coastal region, learn the history of the Gullah Geechee people and enjoy the rich culture, food and art of the region. 

Friday, October 16, 2026 - Guests will be welcomed with dinner and remarks at the gorgeous Thompson Savannah hotel. Sophisticated and luxurious, The Thompson Hotel sits right along the Savannah River’s edge where the Historic District meets the Eastern Wharf.  You will experience experience an urban oasis where you can relax, revitalize and rejuvenate.  The weekend begins with an exquisite dinner reception featuring coastal southern cuisine and opening reflections by Gullah cultural preservationist, Ms. Kitty Green. 

Saturday, October 17, 2026-  Guests will travel by luxury coach to Bluffton, South Carolina for a full day of hands on programming at The Bluffton Gullah Cultural Heritage Center. Each traveler will experience a guided visit and catered lunch from The famous "Ma Daisy's Porch."  Each guests will participate in unforgettable workshops on Sweetgrass Basket weaving and quilting by Ms. Jennifaye Singleton and Mrs. Lisa Moore. Each traveler will take home a personalized keepsake. 

Sunday, October 18, 2026- Guests will conclude their experience with a guided Black History tour of Savannah led by historian Rita Fuller Yates, offering deeper insight into the city. Guest will enjoy a delicious lowcountry brunch, followed by leisure time and personalized waterfront photography. 

Preferred rates at the Thompson Hotel Savannah and transportation to and from Savannah are available by request.
